Maverick by Vixen creations: a love letter

The Maverick has been our favourite dildo from the moment we first tried it. It is in the heaviest rotation from all the dildos we own. It is made in dual-density casting, which means that the dildo is made from two silicone layers with slightly different properties; a harder one is used for the core, and a softer one to form the outer layer. Dual-density is a game-changer. To us, this feels like the holy grail of dildos and we are excited that we get to share this discovery with you. The Maverick is made by a Vixskin formula, which has the most realistic feel from all of the Vixen’s creations. It is super squishy and also warms up and retains body heat unlike anything else we have ever tried. In short, it feels absolutely divine to be penetrated with this toy and we only have positive things to write about it.
The Maverick is freaking massive. It measures 7 inches (17.8 cm) in length and a breathtaking 2 inches (5.08 cm) in width. It comes in a realistic design; the detail on this toy is really next level. It comes in various skin colours, as well as in flamboyant colour-combos. We love that the company has been increasingly experimenting more with non-skin colours because it gives a playful side to this otherwise serious and intimidating-looking massive fucker.
We bought this toy in the well-stocked and queer-friendly Pleasurechest shop in LA during our visit to the States. One of us was not quite sure about going with this size and was already considering getting a smaller one, however, the other one was convinced that we needed the Maverick in our lives so we made the decision to buy it. With a backpack full of goodies, we excitedly returned to our Airbnb to get to know our new toys. We opened the package of the Maverick, felt intimidated by it (well, at least one of us did), then gave it its first wash-up before use. Then one of us lubed it up, started kissing and caressing the other, and then slowly pushed the tip of Maverick’s “head” inside her vagina, progressing slowly for a few seconds. Some four strokes later and perhaps two centimetres (one inch) later, the one being pleasured was already breathing deeply and making cum noises, confirming that the Maverick had indeed been a fabulous purchase. This was love at first fuck.
During the first few months of owning it, we sometimes got too excited and incorporated this toy into our play too early on, only to realize that our vaginas are not ready just yet and needed further foreplay. Then after a few months, the above-mentioned obstacles disappeared. Probably the main reason is that we got better at judging when we are ready to receive it. The person being penetrated definitely needs to be well aroused to get this big toy in. By this we mean physical arousal - their vagina should be widely opened and very well lubricated. Furthermore, even if you produce lots of natural lubricants, we still recommend you to generously apply some additional water-based lube. Also, start slow (minimal penetration), engage in plenty of foreplay.
The Maverick takes the crown in granting us the most enjoyable and satisfiable dildo penetrations. Because of its dual-density silicone, it feels like an actual body part. Its thickness adds an additional level of stimulation to our experience - the outer and the inner labia gets stimulated as well as our insides, where the G-spot is being taken care of. We feel like this toy fills us up and tickles all of our vaginal walls and because it is so soft, it feels like it belongs inside our vaginas. It's like giving your vagina an intense hug. When using a dildo made from a harder silicone, we can feel its distinct shape inside our vagina, which does not happen with softer dildos, such as this one. This toy is perfect for occasions when one is really horny. Even in our horniest moments, the Maverick puts us right in our place and makes us purr like a kitten. Warning: the orgasm is the drive-you-crazy type, you are likely to become obsessed and start neglecting your other dildos.
It has a non-slip cup and is meant to be used on a harness. Using it without a harness is a bit more challenging (unless you are as it is difficult to hold in your hand, so we recommend using it in its intended way. It is large and bendable enough to accommodate pleasure from all types of positions. We are both verses and find it absolutely fabulous to watch how much we are pleasuring the other one with this toy, while fucking them with a strap on. Another great thing is that because of its size, the positions that might be difficult to achieve with smaller dildos (like side-ways), are much easier to perform.
It is important to note that the Maverick should ideally be kept away from other toys. For this price-point, it would have been a nice touch to get a little storage pouch with it. However, the lack of it does not affect our high opinion of this toy. It is very easy to clean. Inevitably, it will feel sticky after a good wash, so if you feel annoyed by having to wash it before every use, consider getting a box (preferably a hygienic sex toy box) where you can store this one safe from the dust and animal hair.
Our overall score of the Maverick is 100. Since it comes with an unbeatable lifetime warranty, we would recommend that if you were to invest in one good dildo, to use on a strap on, try Vixskin. We reviewed the Maverick, but dildos are not a one-size-fits-all types of products and Vixen creations offer several other sizes to choose from. We’d personally take thickness over length any time and are super pleased that Vixen has plenty of short thick fuckers to choose from.
